Commission Board
The Commission Board will determine and oversee the overall strategic direction of the Commission and evaluate performance. In addition to the Chair and Commissioner, the Board members are:
Deborah Absalom
Non-Executive Director
Deborah is the current Director of Children and Young Peoples Services in the London Borough of Bexley. She was previously Deputy Chief Executive of Education in Leeds. Deborah also serves on the steering group of the London Directors of Children's Services and represents the Association of Directors of Children's Services on a number of national groups.
Rosemary Carter
Non-Executive Director
Rosemary is a consulting solicitor specialising in family law and an accredited mediator. She is
currently a Board member of the Office for Legal Complaints and an independent member of the General
Dental Council and of the RICS Surveyors Ombudsman Scheme Board. Rosemary is also a member of Resolution
.
Bill Griffiths
Non-Executive Director
Bill is currently Chairman of the Forensic Science Service and at the Fire Service College. He also holds a number of other Non-Executive Director roles within DWP and at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Bill has previously held Non-Executive roles at the Child Support Agency, the Department for International Development and HM Revenue and Customs.
Alan Hardy
Finance & Assurance Director
Alan is responsible for shaping the Finance and Assurance function within the new Commission. Alan has been Finance and Business Assurance Director at the Child Support Agency since April 2006 and during this time has built up extensive knowledge about the child maintenance system, which he will be able to bring to the Commission.
Heather Jackson
Non-Executive Director
Heather has held several business change and operational roles at a senior level with a variety of organisations. Most recently she was Chief Information Officer and Group IT Director for HBOS. Previously she has led IT and change for Capital One, Boots, Asda and Burton Group.
Susan Park
Corporate Affairs Director
Susan is responsible for the Commission’s high level strategy, policy and secondary legislation and management of external relationships. She was previously Strategy, Policy and Development Director at the Child Support Agency, and also spent two years as Operations Director. Prior to that, she was Principal Private Secretary to four successive Secretaries of State.
Maeve Sherlock
Non-Executive Director
Maeve is currently a Commissioner for the Equalities and Human Rights Commission and a member of the Board of the Financial Ombudsman Service. She was previously Chief Executive of the Refugee Council, Director of the National Council for One Parent Families and a member of the Council of Economic Advisers in HM Treasury, where her brief included child poverty.
Keith Woodhouse
Change and Corporate Services director
Keith is responsible for leading the programmes of change to establish the new regime for child maintenance in Great Britiain. Keith joined the Child Support Agency in 2006 as Business Design Director and Chief Information Officer. In February 2008, Keith became responsible for the Child Support Agency’s change agenda and the Child Maintenance Redesign Programme.
